Do I need to obtain homeowner’s insurance or flood insurance before the closing?

If you are purchasing a home and you’re going to have a mortgage on it, the lender will require you to have homeowner’s insurance. If you are in a flood zone, the lender may also require you to have flood insurance as well prior to the closing.
